ANNUAL PARISH ASSEMBLY – THURSDAY, 12th APRIL 2018 at 7.30 p.m.
in the Memorial Hall, School Lane, Higham ME3 7JL

  

FROM 7.00 P.M. UNTIL THE START OF THE MEETING, AND AGAIN IN THE INTERVAL BREAK:

*    OFFICERS FROM HIGHWAYS ENGLAND WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE TO  

      ANSWER PARISHIONERS’ QUESTIONS REGARDING THE LATEST SET OF

      MAPS AND DRAWINGS FOR THE LOWER THAMES CROSSING.

*    MEMBERS OF THE HIGHAM VILLAGE PLAN STEERING GROUP WILL BE

     AVAILABLE TO TELL RESIDENTS ALL ABOUT THE NEWLY PUBLISHED

     ACTION PLAN AND EXPLAIN HOW THEY CAN GET INVOLVED.
 

Prior to the commencement of the Meeting the Chairman shall ensure that all persons present shall have received a copy of the Minutes of the 2017 Annual Parish Assembly, and the Higham Parish Council Annual Newsletter and Reports Booklet for 2018. This booklet contains the Annual Report of the Parish Council, and those of Village Bodies and Voluntary Organisations, which are normally presented at this Meeting.

  1. Chairman’s welcome and introduction to the Meeting.       
  2. Apologies for absence.
  3. To confirm and sign the Minutes of the Annual Parish Assembly held on Wednesday, 12th  April 2017.
  4. Matters arising from the Minutes.
  5. To receive the Annual Report of the Parish Council:

       a.    Allotments (P.15)

       b.    Planning (P.14)

       c.    Recreation Ground (P.16)

  1. To receive the simplified draft statement of the Parish Council’s Accounts for the Year  Ended 31st March 2018 (P. 6)
  2. To receive the observations of the County Councillor who represents Higham’s interest, Cllr. Bryan Sweetland.
  3. To receive the observations of the District Councillors who represent Higham’s interest, Cllr. Harold Craske and Cllr. Les Pearton.
  4. To receive the Annual Report of the Governing Body of Higham Primary School (P.28).
  5. To receive the report of the Kent Association of Local Councils (P.11)
  6. To receive reports from Village Bodies and Voluntary Organisations (to be found throughout the booklet).
  7. To consider any other matters raised by Parishioners.
  8. Any Other Business.
  9. Short response from Cllr. Harold Craske, Mayor of Gravesham.
  10. Cllr. Sue Sparks will update Parishioners regarding the publication of the Higham Village Plan and give information about other items of importance to the Parish.

 

 BREAK FOR REFRESHMENTS
 

   16. To welcome Andrew Rootes, who will give a talk entitled “Life on the farm in Higham”.
   17. To note the date of the next Annual Parish Assembly, Thursday, 11th April 2019.
