Gardens for Pleasure Competition
Gardens for Pleasure is an annual competition organised by Higham Parish Council and judged, on our behalf, by Millbrook Garden Company.
This is an informal competiion with no entry forms for parishioners to complete as every front garden in the village is considered when the judges tour the Parish in July looking for gardens that give the passer-by the most visual pleasure.
In reaching a final decision the judges award points for colour, choice of plants and cultivation, and the overall design of the garden. There is a total prize fund of £300 to be won!
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Gardens for Pleasure 2020 had to be cancelled. Should it be appropriate to doso, we will be launching Gardens for Pleasure 2021 in the Spring…watch this space!

This competion is deeply embedded into our village culture and we are pleased to announce that 2019 marked the 35th anniversary of the competition.
The 2019 prizewinners attended Higham Library on the 25th November 2019 for the awards ceremony hosted by The Mayor of Gravesham and the Parish Council. Well done to all involved and we are very much looking forward to our 36th year in 2020!
All of the details for the Gardens for Pleasure Competition 2020 will be officially announced on our website mid-2020.
