Though born and bred in Yorkshire, I have lived in Higham since 1986 where, with my husband, I brought up our three children.

I joined the Parish Council in 2016.

After retiring I volunteered at the local Youth Club and became involved in the production of the Higham Village Plan. This led me to realise my passion for the village and for keeping it a safe and enjoyable place to live. I therefore decided to get involved in, and join, the Parish Council.

Since joining the Parish Council, I have continued to volunteer at the Youth Club and was instrumental in the writing of the Higham Village Plan.

I also serve on the Youth Club, the Pavillion and the Sports Association Committees, all working towards improving facilities and activities for the village.

I can also be seen regularly litter picking and gardening around the village.

Before retiring, I was a teacher for 36 years, 27 of these at Meopham Secondary School where I was Head of Modern Foreign Languages and Humanities, and later their Professional Tutor working with newly qualified teachers.
